The Biomass satellite has arrived at Europe’s spaceport
ESA’s Biomass satellite has arrived at Europe’s spaceport, where it will prepare for a launch scheduled for late April onboard a Vega-C rocket.
Preparation is under way for the second launch of the year at Europe’s spaceport.
After a two-week journey at sea onboard the MN Toucan, the Biomass Earth observation satellite arrived at the port of Pariacabo in Kourou. It was then transported to the clean room at Europe’s spaceport, where it is currently undergoing preparation.
This revolutionary satellite will make it possible to better understand carbon storage by forests, a key issue in the fight against climate change. For more information on the mission and the satellite, visit ESA and CNES websites.
