Coming soon: “Guyane: l’Odyssée de l’Espace”, the TV game show

From 4 October, travel to the stars without leaving your armchair with the new TV game show: Guyane: l’Odyssée de l’Espace. Tune into French Guiana’s La 1ère channel at 8 pm.

Ready to travel to the stars without leaving your armchair? That’s the promise of “Guyane: l’Odyssée de l’Espace” (Guiana: a Space Odyssey), a brand-new game show in partnership with French Guiana’s La 1ère channel, to celebrate 60 years of Europe’s spaceport and the arrival of Ariane 6.

 

From 4 October, Tano Brassé & the artificial intelligence L.A.U.R.A. (for Liaison d’Analyse et d’Utilisation en Réseau pour l’Astronautique, or Analysis and network use link for astronautics) will be airing at 8 pm.

 

Every evening, three candidates from different towns in French Guiana compete against each other in a question-and-answer session. Watch this challenge with your family and try to answer before the candidates, as fast as a meteorite or shooting star!

 

How the game show works

 

Participants are tested on questions relating to Europe’s spaceport, adventure and space culture. Tano Brassé and his sidekick LAURA accompany the contestants throughout the game. Three candidates from the same town (22 in total) compete every evening.

 

At the end of the game, four finalists (one from each communauté de communes, or federation of local authorities) will go head-to-head in a grand finale on Friday 8 November.

 

The prize is a trip to Europe to discover the main countries that contribute to the Ariane 6 programme.

 

To create a totally immersive setting, the game was filmed at Europe’s spaceport, in the heart of Guyaspace Expérience, the former Space Museum, from 6 to 21 September. Let’s take a look back at the making of this brand-new space adventure.

-    Frequency: Monday to Friday at 8 pm
-    Number of episodes and duration: 22 episodes lasting 26 minutes each
-    2 episodes broadcast on 1 November 2024 at 8 pm and 8.30 pm
-    Grand Finale: Friday 8 November 2024 at 8 pm (60 minutes)
